Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled for reservations booked through The United Sky, operated by The United Sky Travel LLC.

1. The airline's fare rules govern

The United Skyis a travel agency, not an airline. Every ticket is issued under the operating airline's fare rules, and those rules — not our preferences — determine whether a ticket can be cancelled, whether it refunds to your card, and what penalty applies. Our agents read the applicable rules to you before you pay.

2. The 24-hour rule

Under US Department of Transportation regulations, a reservation made at least seven days before departure on a flight to, from or within the United States may be cancelled without penalty within 24 hours of booking, with a full refund to the original form of payment. 3. Ticket types

• Refundable fares — cancel any time before departure for a refund to the original form of payment, less any airline-imposed fee.
• Non-refundable fares — usually not refundable in cash. Depending on the airline, the value may be retained as a travel credit, less a change or cancellation penalty. Some deeply discounted and basic-economy fares have no residual value at all.
• Consolidator and negotiated fares — frequently carry stricter rules than published fares, including no-refund and no-change conditions. These are always disclosed before purchase.
• No-shows — failing to travel without cancelling first typically forfeits the full ticket value and may cancel all remaining segments.

4. Our service fee

The service fee charged by The United Sky for arranging, ticketing and servicing a booking is disclosed before you pay and is non-refundable once a ticket has been issued, because the service has been performed. Where we help you process a refund or cancellation, a separate post-ticketing service fee may apply; it is quoted to you before any work is done.

5. How to request a cancellation

1. Call 1-888-555-0123 — this is the only way to cancel with an immediate timestamp.
2. Or email support@theunitedsky.com with your booking reference and passenger names. Email requests are actioned in the order received during business hours and are not suitable for time-critical cancellations.
3. We confirm the applicable penalty and refundable amount before cancelling.
4. We submit the request to the airline and send you written confirmation.

6. Refund timelines

Refunds are issued by the airline, not by us, and we cannot release funds ahead of them. Typical timelines once the airline approves a refund:

• Credit and debit cards: 7–20 business days to appear on your statement.
• Airline travel credits: usually issued within 72 hours.
• Involuntary refunds (airline cancellation): 7 business days for credit cards and 20 for other payment methods, as required by DOT rules.

7. When the airline cancels or significantly delays

If the operating airline cancels your flight or makes a significant schedule change and you choose not to accept the alternative offered, you are entitled to a refund of the unused portion of the ticket under DOT rules — regardless of whether the fare was non-refundable. We will file and track that refund on your behalf at no additional service fee.

8. Travel insurance

Where insurance was purchased with your booking, claims for illness, bereavement or other covered events are handled directly by the insurer under its own policy terms. Insurance premiums are generally non-refundable after the policy's review period.

9. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. Most disputes are misunderstandings about fare rules that we can resolve within one call. A chargeback filed against a validly issued ticket may result in the airline cancelling the reservation.
